MONTHS after its signs went up, a new piri-piri takeaway is finally opening.

Gallo’s Piri Piri and Grill, in Jewry Street, will open this month.

The outside red and black branding has been mirrored on the inside and equipment is beginning to be installed.

New Gallo’s signs were first spotted on the front of the takeaway previously occupied by Barcelos Piri Piri in June.

Barcelos opened in 2018, before closing earlier this year for unknown reasons.

The window now has a large ‘opening soon’ sign in the window, replacing the ‘opening soon October’ which had been etched into the whitewash.

The fast food restaurant has also updated its Facebook page, posting its menu and opening times but the opening day remains unknown.

The takeaway will serve different types of grilled chicken with Mexican flavouring as well as beef, lamb and veggie options to have in pitta, wraps or burgers.

The business will be open 12pm to 2am Monday to Saturday and 12pm to 12 am on Sundays. Delivery will be available from 5pm to 10pm.

Gallo’s Piri Piri has been contacted for comment.
