A FIREWORKS display is coming to Colden Common.
The event, which includes a bonfire, will be held at Colden Common Park, in Boyes Lane, on Saturday November 4.
It will be organised by 9th Winchester Scouts.
A statement from Colden Common Parish Council said: “Councillors held a lengthy discussion on this matter, carefully considering the welfare of the horses on Boyes Lane, the effect on those with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), domestic pets and the community benefit of such an event.
“It was a difficult decision for councillors, but on balance the council resolved to approve permission. This decision was made so that the stables on Boyes Lane, those with PTSD and owners of domestic pets nearby will have an opportunity to plan for a firework display at a set date and time known in advance.
“It is hoped that a benefit of having one affordable community event for the village will limit the use of private firework displays.”
