“We’d like to thank our staff and the community who have supported us during our time in Fulflood.”

Number 25 is run by Alex Donnan, managing director of Autumn House, in The Square, which closed for good on Monday, August 21, with all of its furniture and catering equipment being sold on Tuesday, September 19 as part of a bankruptcy clearance sale.

The cafe, in Stockbridge Road, was previously occupied by the Greenhouse Cafe which closed in July last year.

Comments on the Chronicle online indicate that Number 25 staff have been left out of pocket by the closure.

The Chronicle is trying to contact Mr Donnan.

Several of his previous businesses have closed after building up debts, including the Coffee Lab chain.

He and his partner Laura Turner have said they are fighting hard to save their the business, the Pump House on Garnier Road in St Cross.

Mr Donnan admitted on LinkedIn: "Spreading myself too thin because of the excitement of owning and creating something new has essentially bitten me on the bum."

Laura Turner emailed the Chronicle, saying this would be the only comment: “It is with regret we announce the closure of Number 25. We’d like to thank our staff and the community who have supported us during our time in Fulflood.”

This comment is the same as the sign in the window of the cafe.
