A FOUNTAIN which had been out of action all year and puzzling plumbers has been fixed.
The water fountain, in Market Lane next to St Maurice's Covert, was raised at the cabinet meeting by former city councillor Ian Tait.
He told the meeting, on Wednesday September 13, that it had been broken since at least January.

However, on Tuesday September 19, Mr Tait found that the fountain had been fixed.
At the cabinet meeting, Winchester City Council leader Martin Tod said: "The water fountain is a matter of some puzzlement.”
A Winchester City Council spokesman said: "It was an issue with a valve that has now been resolved."
