WINCHESTER has its first carbon neutral commercial building.

Development company Gentian recruited local contractor SM5 to build commercial units in Winnall with low energy consumption and environmental impact.

The newly completed commercial building, in Moorside Road, has been awarded the highest energy efficiency rating of EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) A+, which means the units are generating more energy than they consume and have minimal carbon emissions.

Gentian’s managing director, Nick Ekins, said: “We are proud to deliver the first net zero purpose-built commercial building in Winchester. It has been great to work again with the SM5 team and provide new premises for such a highly regarded tenant.”
