A DIESEL thief who drove while banned and without insurance has been jailed.
Mark Hughes, 49, of Battery Hill, Bishop's Waltham, pleaded guilty to 15 charges at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Thursday, September 14.
Each time Hughes made off without paying for diesel across Hampshire he was driving while his licence was disqualified and without insurance.
Hughes stole a total of £260.36 worth of diesel from a service station in Station Hill, Curdridge, from January 15 to January 29.
The most he stole in one trip was £88.75 worth of fuel on January 17.
He also stole £85.60 worth of diesel from a service station in Fareham Road, Wickham, on November 28.
Magistrates jailed Hughes for 10 weeks and handed him a further 44-month driving ban.
