THE Dever Art Exhibition will be taking over Sutton Scotney Village Hall from Friday, October 13 to Sunday, October 15.

Visitors will be able to see what the artists have been up to this year and meet them in person. Refreshments will be available as well as free parking.

DEVER History Society is hosting a talk on the Roman invasion of Britain. The talk by John Smith will explore how the occupation unfolded almost 1,980 years ago.

The event starts at 8pm on Wednesday, September 27 at East Stratton Village Hall. Tickets cost £4 and will be available at the door.

MICHELDEVER Variety Group is launching its auditions for this year’s pantomime Happily Ever After.

MICHELDEVER Parish Council is looking for a new councillor. If written requests from 10 or more electors are made by Thursday, September 21 then a by-election will be held. If not, the vacancy will be filled by co-option at the next meeting on Wednesday, October 4 at East Stratton Village Hall.

RESIDENTS are being urged to save the date for the Micheldever Safari Supper on Saturday, October 7. The event costs £25 per person for those hosting a course at heir home and £30 for others. Proceeds will go towards St Mary’s Church Fabric Fund.

THE Boaz Trail Race is back this month with a 5k and 10k at Hill Farm near Sutton Scotney. Both the five and 10k races start at 10am on Sunday, September 17.

Runners must register by midnight on Friday, September 15. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own cups to use at the water stations at 2.5km and 7.5km in and at race HQ.

Refreshments at HQ include a hot meal, cakes, tea, coffee and soft drinks. All proceeds will go towards the Boaz Project, an inclusive farm-based charity which aims to help people with learning difficulties.

WONSTON Community Café returns to Victoria Hall on Wednesday, September 20, raising money for the local hedgehog rescue charity in Sutton Scotney.

The volunteers will next be opening the café on Wednesday, October 18 for Blood Cancer UK, Wednesday, November 15 for Talking Newspapers and Wednesday, December 13  for Teens Vs. Cancer.

All the cake is homemade. The café has free parking and is cash only.
