“This really is a dream come true, to finally hold a copy of my book in my hands, after all this time.”

Suzanne Featherstonehaugh, 78, of Bishop’s Waltham, has had her romance novel Torn, written more than 20 years ago, finally published, with a packed book launch at The Crown Inn on August 25.

Mrs Featherstonehaugh had originally penned the romance novel during a tumultuous time in her life as a short story for a writing competition.

However, as she felt the timing was not right, the writer shelved the story, and for over two decades it sat collecting dust in a cupboard.

It was after this time that Mrs Featherstonehaugh moved back to Bishop’s Waltham, where her group of friends encouraged her to publish the story, a dream she has now realised.

The blurb reads: “On a night flight in the nineteen-eighties, two passengers begin a journey that neither would ever forget. A romantic connection over champagne led to an affair that rocked their quiet lives. Jennifer and Simon found themselves in a tailspin of lust that neither could bear to end. Inevitably, they were forced to return to their mundane lives with a big decision to be made. However, fate had other ideas.”

Torn is available to buy on Amazon now, hardbacks for £10.99 and paperbacks for £5.99.
