A HAMPSHIRE man is running 200 miles from Winchester to Eastbourne and back to raise money for charity.

A keen ultramarathon runner and founder of All Terrain Fitness, personal trainer Billy Price, 31, is travelling across the South Downs Way. Having set off from Winchester on August 25, he is aiming to complete the journey in one continuous effort by Monday, August 28.

At the time of writing, he is more than 15 hours into his journey, past the 57-mile point.

He is being supported by his wife, Charley, and parents, Malc and Bernie, who have set up checkpoints throughout the course.

Billy, who is from Waterlooville, is undertaking the challenge to raise money for Neuroblastoma research after his friend’s son Huey was diagnosed with the cancer at the age of four.

Billy said: “I am friends with his dad, Ben, and it was heartbreaking the day Ben told me the news, Ben and I had spent many a working day sharing stories about our hyperactive cheeky sons who had similar characters and not too far apart in age, so the news really hit home for me.

“Huey has been fighting for a year now, and although he is making great progress, it is far from over for this young, hardworking family.”

The charity run is aiming to raise money for Neuroblastoma UK, a charity that funds research for a cure and less invasive treatment for children.
