Two applications were refused by Winchester City Council planning officers this week. 

In Compton, Mr Darrock's application was refused to change the use of agricultural land to residential garden land at The Hen House, Shepherds Lane.

An application from Eligius Ltd was refused for the demolition of one existing detached residential dwelling and the construction of two four-bed detached dwellings, together with access and parking. This was at Chilton, Uplands Road in Denmead.

Mohamed Bakhaty withdrew an application to replace the frontage to change ground floor to restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining and addition of toilets to cellar. Also amendments to first and second floor to change from hairdressers to three flats. This was at 18 The Square, Winchester.

All other applications were permitted. 

Rebecca Lyth's retrospective application for a single storey rear extension and alterations including revised ground floor layout to create new WC and open plan living area at 17 Wren Close, Badger Farm, was permitted.

In Headbourne Worthy, John and Alison Moore's application was permitted for internal alterations, replacement windows, replacement rainwater goods (partial) and other minor repairs at The Old Rectory, Springvale Road.

Joan Pearson had an application permitted for a single storey side extension following demolition of existing attached garage at 50 Old Kennels Lane.

Paul Kenney's application was permitted for a garage extension and internal alterations at Tumble Trees, Hospital Road.

James Payne can construct a new agricultural barn with associated midden and slurry lagoon at Sparsholt College, Westley Lane.

In Whiteley, Mr Geach had an application permitted for a two storey and first floor extension at 16 Skylark Meadows. 

Charlotte Clarke have a rear single storey extension at 32 School Road, Wickham.

Martin Rogers had an application permitted for a single storey side extension at Greystones, Titchfield Lane.

In Winchester, Ross Galtress can have a single storey rear extension and loft conversion, with rear dormer extension and conservation rooflights at 2 Swan Lane.

Ben Andrews had an application permitted for a 100cm x 100cm ACM plastic sign on the exterior brick of the property for visibility at 17 Staple Gardens. 

The Winchester Beacon's application was permitted for the construction of a new side extension and all associated works at 52 Winnall Manor Road.

Mike and Caroline Hawes can have roof extensions at 75 Andover Road.

Mr and Mrs Dymott had an application permitted for a single storey side extension and replacement of angled rear bay with French doors at Westgrove, 27A Dean Lane.

Emma Bulstrode's application was permitted for alterations to existing entrance porch on front elevation, new garden wall along southern site boundary and timber bin and bike shed in front garden. This is at 27 Courtenay Road.

Andrew Hayward can have alterations to rear store building at 68 Eastgate Street. 

Mr and Mrs Pike's application was permitted for a single storey rear extension and loft conversion with three dormers and three Velux windows, at 55 Alresford Road.

In Wonston, Mr and Mrs Whaites can have a single storey rear extension at 3 Pigeonhouse Cottages, Pigeonhouse Yard.
