A yellow weather warning has been issued for Southampton ahead of the arrival of Storm Antoni on Saturday. 

According to the Met Office, the storm will bring "unseasonably windy weather to southern parts of the UK." 

The national weather service has said strong winds may result in potential travel disruptions in some places.

Caution is being urged from 8am and 8pm on Saturday, August 5.

Here's what the warning includes: 

  • Injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible.
  • Some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen.
  • Likely delays to road, rail, air, and ferry services, with longer journey times and cancellations possible.
  • Closure of some roads and bridges. 
  • Possibility of power cuts, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
  • Injuries and danger to life could from large waves and beach material being thrown onto seafronts, coastal roads, and properties.
