Cllr Dowden said: “During my mayoral year I raised over £5,050 for three charities. Romsey Young Carers, Andover Young Carers and Yellow Brick Road and Kids on track each received £1,262.50.
"I was helped to raise it with local business donations, two local schools and a large portion of the total by Matt Le Tissier when he filled the Lights Theatre in Andover with football fans who enjoyed some of his fantastic achievements during his football career. He also answered over thirty questions from the audience. It certainly was a fantastic evening.”
