I am the senior research editor for aviation website Aircrew Remembered.
I am researching an Australian pilot who was killed during the Second World War.
In his service file are several references to Mrs Myra Chichester and her husband Marcus, who, according to letters in the pilot's service file, were most kind to him during his time in the UK.

In trying to determine the airman's connection with the Chichesters I came across the Hampshire Chronicle online article of April 25, 2022, 'Spy alert sparked by a Hampshire teenage girl', in which Jane Chichester recalls her life at Lichfield Grange during the war and that 'Free French soldiers and Australian pilots' stayed there, 'resting from hostilities'.
I am interested in discovering more about this kindness, extended by Mr and Mrs Chichester and what it entailed. I will appreciate any help or advice that you might be able to offer, which would help me in my quest.
Kind Regards
