THERE are less than two weeks left until the return of Winchester Comedy Festival’s Summer Gala.

The Theatre Royal Winchester will host an evening of laughs for the event on Saturday, June 3.

Among the line-up of award-nominated and competition-winning comedians is Larry Dean who Scottish Comedian of the Year at just 23 and Fiona Ridgewell who reached the final of the Funny Women awards in 2020.

Also on the bill is Jimmy McGhie, who was formerly assistant producer for the BBC’s science and history department before he began performing stand-up around the world.

Hampshire Chronicle: James Redmond

Actor, presenter and comedian James Redmond will take to the stage as the evening’s MC. Redmond played ‘Finn’ in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks for four years and ‘Abs’ in Casualty (BBC) for six years as well as working as a comedian and compere across the UK and Europe for the past 14 years.

Winchester Comedy Festival presents regular events in venues across the city showcasing some of the biggest names in comedy. Over the years the line-ups have included the likes of Ed Byrne, Mark Watson, Isy Suttie (Peep Show), and Winchester’s own Paul McCaffrey.
