SOUTH Wonston PTA has announced it will hold a summer event on Saturday June 24.

It will feature a colour run, as well as a bar, barbeque, tombola, bouncy castle and more.

THE next Wonston Fete will take place on Saturday July 8.

Taking place at The Old House, Wonston, the fete starts at 1pm and ends at 4.30pm. There will be a range of attractions for attendees to enjoy, including traditional games and stalls, a barbeque, ice cream, bouncy castles, tea and cake and more.

Entry to the fete will cost £2 for adults and £1 per child, with free parking available. The fete will be cash only.

THE Dever Society will be holding its annual general meeting for supporters on Tuesday May 23 at the Warren Hall in Micheldever Station, starting at 7.30pm.

The meeting will provide members with an update on planning, with a focus on the latest information about the council’s strategy for meeting the need for new homes in the area.

The society is delighted to be welcoming Winchester City Council leader Martin Tod to the meeting. He will give an update following the AGM, with members also hearing from other county and district councillors as well. 

SOUTH Wonston Swifts FC is looking for children entering Year 2 in the 2023/24 school year to join a training group. This is with a view of forming a playing squad for the 23/24 football season.

The club will be running taster sessions on Friday evenings throughout May at South Wonston Recreation Ground.

THE Micheldever Station Heritage Group is holding a new exhibition in the foyer of the Hampshire Record Office, on Sussex Street in Winchester.

The free exhibition will detail how Micheldever Station evolved into a thriving community following the construction of the station in 1840. The exhibition is running from Tuesday, May 2 to Thursday, June 29.

THE next South Wonston Parish Council sustainability café takes place on Sunday, May 21 at 11am.

The café will focus on travel and transport and will include a mass cycle ride. The ride will start at 11.30pm from South Wonston Pavilion and will use the recently completed cycle path, the Yellow Brick Road, to travel to Andover Road water works before returning the same way.

Finishing at 1pm, the café will also include information on how we can reduce the impact that travel has on the climate.
