A WINCHESTER women's club has donated a garden bench to a hospice for patients, visitors and staff to use in the Chelsea Flower Show garden.

Representatives from Soroptimist International of Winchester dedicated the outdoor seating to Winchester Hospice with a plaque and had the chance to meet the team.

Following on from the Chelsea Flower Show in 2021, the Bible Society rebuilt its garden in the grounds of the hospice. The area has an outdoor room and patio both in sunshine and shade for the residents.

Clinical matron, Donna Coombs, said: “We are so grateful to have been gifted such a beautiful bench for our patients, visitors and staff to use while enjoying moments of peace and calm in our outdoor space.

“Our garden is an invaluable area in our hospice grounds and we feel really privileged to have Soroptimist International of Winchester helping us to make it as wonderful as it can be for all.”
