A LAW firm is celebrating a major milestone for one of its employees, who has marked 50 years working at the company.

Jackie Shiers joined Blake Morgan in March 1973 when she was 15 years old, and was based in the office which the firm had at the time in Landport Terrace, Southsea.

Since beginning her career as a cashier, she specialised in tax compliance and established herself as a valued member of the succession and tax team.

Today she is a tax executive, advising individuals, trustees and executors on the completion of their annual tax returns.

Blake Morgan marked Jackie’s achievement with a special presentation at its office in Chandler's Ford to celebrate her golden anniversary.

Colleagues presented her with a gift to thank her for her impressive contribution over the past 50 years and enjoyed drinks and a cake together.

Paula Shea, partner at Blake Morgan, said: “It’s wonderful to celebrate this remarkable milestone reached by Jackie, who has been an integral member of our team over the last 50 years.

“It is a testament to her dedication, hard work and commitment that she has been a part of our business for this length of time.

"I’m immensely proud that she has chosen to develop her career at our firm and wish her success in the coming years”.

Jackie added: "Over my time with the firm so far I have undertaken a wide variety of roles and seen the way we work change significantly - a lot has changed since I started as an assistant cashier, then onto to cashier, when I was using a front feed manual typewriter with carbon paper and Tippex!

"I have enjoyed seeing the changes at the firm as it has grown and evolved over the years and look forward to continuing to be a part of Blake Morgan."
