A WINCHESTER fitness company has recently launched 'exhilarating' new sessions which makes use of a saltwater sauna in Dorset.

Emma McCaffrey and Zoë Baker, who runs FitState Winchester, usually train outside, opposite the tennis courts at the old River Park Leisure Centre site, however the new sessions have taken them further afield.

They are now running sessions which see people exercise, and then use a sauna, before running into the sea at Sandbanks in Poole - making for an 'exhilarating and reawakening' experience.

Emma said: “We are passionate about motivating women to reach their fitness and well-being potential and offer cardio, strength, circuit and boxing training.

Hampshire Chronicle:

“No two sessions are the same and we encourage laughter and fun to avoid making it feel like a chore.

“In addition to engaging in a variety of exercise every day, Zoë and I have been cold water swimming for four years and as soon as the sauna opened in Sandbanks we became regular visitors and it was while there one day that we dreamt up the idea of creating the ultimate reset package where people could escape the daily grind for a transformative and thrilling experience.

Hampshire Chronicle:

“Not only is the beat and intensity of a cold water dip exhilarating and reawakening, but the benefits are also endless.”

Emma and Zoë hosted three two-hour slots on March 17.

The slots included: 25 minutes of low-intensity interval training followed by 25 minutes of stretching, breath worth, relaxation and meditation.

Then, they head into the sauna for the 'nordic cycle' where people heat up and then cool down in the sea, on repeat over the space of 65 minutes.

The next two dates for this are already sold out and they are now looking to secure more dates.
