THE spring show of Old Alresford Dramatic Society is currently uncertain.
In a post on its Facebook page, it said: “At auditions on Sunday we only had seven potential performers join us - this would not be enough for us to put on the sort of show our audiences have come to expect and enjoy.
“At this stage, we have two options - either recruit some additional performers, or significantly change our plans, which could include abandoning the Spring Show for 2023, which we would like to avoid.
“We know many of you are busy at this time of year, but it’s possible that you would like to be involved but couldn’t make the auditions. If it’s the latter, please let us know by the end of this week, Friday March 17, so that we can assess our options. As ever, Spring Show is a predominantly adult cast, but some roles could be suitable for older teenagers.”
Its planned Spring Show is TOADS: By Royal Command, a journey through the last thousand years of British monarchs, in a series of comedy sketches based around some modern TV shows and songs. Rehearsals would start soon and be on Sundays at 7pm and Thursdays at 7:30pm until show week, which runs Tuesday, May 16 to Saturday, May 20 at 7.30pm.

ALRESFORD 10k race will be on Sunday June 18.
The start and finish will be in Arlebury Park where toilets and limited changing facilities will be available.
There will be a children’s fun run for those aged up to 11 years before the start of the 10k road race.
Money raised from the fun runs goes to Sun Hill Junior School.
The 2022 event attracted 400 runners.
The event will be marshalled by volunteers of Alresford Rotary.
