TWO burglars who raided two Winchester High Street shops for goods worth more than £4,000 have avoided prison.
Elliott Dini, 34, and Barzan Salih, 36, admitted stealing items from Holland & Barrett, valued at £3,081, and from Boots, worth £1,072, on November 22 last year, a court heard.
District Judge Stephen Apted told Dini that he has a flagrant disregard for court orders and had shown a "wilful and persistent failure to comply with community orders".
He jailed him for six weeks but suspended the sentence for 18 months.
Dini, of Croydon, south London, must undertake rehabilitation activity for up to 30 days. He must also pay £42.50 in costs, the court ordered on Tuesday March 14.
Salih, of Mitcham, south London, was ordered to abstain from alcohol for 30 days until April 12. He will be monitored to ensure he does not drink.
A community order was imposed with a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
He must also pay a £114 victim surcharge by May 9.
