I wonder whether any of your readers have copies of The Cassell Book of Farm Study Volumes 1 and 2, edited by Graham Boatfield and published in the 1960s which they do not want.
I am making a study of farming in this area in the 1940s and these books which deal with livestock and arable farming are of particular value to me, as they describe what was produced and how.
They deal with farming as it was before the largescale changes that came in in the late 1970s and 1980s and so give a good picture of farming practice in the decade that interests me.
Volume 2 also contains a whole section on how tractors work and their care and maintenance in the days long before electronic components. The books were prepared for teaching practical farming students.
If anyone would be prepared to give, or sell for a modest price, either or both volumes, I would be extremely grateful. Neither is available through the internet.
