A MONTHLY fundraising café donated more than £300 to a blind and partially sighted sports charity.

Wonston resident and Winchester Goalball representative Pip Varley attended Wonston Community Café’s September event alongside visually impaired volunteers Rosie and Scott at Victoria Hall in Sutton Scotney.

Rosie plays Goalball and helps coach the intermediate teams while Scott plays for the intermediate and elite teams as well as training the novice team.

The indoor 3-aside sport is for blind and partially sighted people. Goalball UK provides and promotes sporting opportunities from grassroots to GB squads. The volunteer-led café raised £364 for the charity through cake and coffee sales and donations.
