A NEW defibrillator has been installed at a Romsey industrial estate.

The equipment is at The Premier Centre, in Premier Way, and was funded by Romsey Extra Parish Council.

Located externally at unit C8, home of Talking Products Ltd, the defibrillator is now up and running and registered with the Ambulance Service.

Brian Stickley, of Talking Products and a director of The Premier Centre management company, said: “With prompt access to a defibrillator, significantly increasing survival rates from six per cent to over 70 per cent, we were delighted to work with the council to house this life saving device for the local area.”

John Parker, chairman of Romsey Extra Parish Council, said: “This is the fifth defibrillator we have funded and installed. As we represent a largely rural community, we think it is important that defibrillators are widely spread and easily accessible and so we were more than happy to fund this one.”
