A YOUTH charity in Winchester that made a plea for pool table donations struck double luck.

Winchester Street Reach has been overwhelmed with support following its GoFundMe campaign to raise money for a pool table with the aim of making the charity’s new base feel like home.

The young person’s organisation moved into Unit 12 in Winnall before Christmas to have a centre for its work. The team has since been developing the space with furniture, a TV, an Xbox and now a pool table to make it feel more comfortable.

Hampshire Chronicle:

To their surprise, staff received two pool tables as well as more than £600 in donations for the charity.

Operations manager Lottie Clist said: “We’re ecstatic about the response and support we have received. A big thank you to everyone who donated and the additional offers that came with it. We are especially grateful to Liberty Games who we sourced the table from for Unit 12, as well as an additional one for our youth club in Micheldever.

Hampshire Chronicle:

“The tables make a huge difference to the spaces and will definitely increase engagement for young people.”

Winchester Street Reach delivers street-based outreach to young people in Winchester and surrounding areas as well as centre-based projects and residential trips with the aim of “meeting young people where they’re at”.
