SOUTH Wonston Parish Council will be hosting a meeting of its Climate Café at South Wonston Pavilion on Sunday, April 2. The café will start at 11am, lasting until 1am. The meeting will tell attendees about biodiversity and ways they can bring more wildflowers in their lives.

The climate café will also feature a talk from Hampshire Swift expert Tim Norris at 11.30am, with a chance to get Swift boxes for your own home. This will be followed by a talk from local enthusiast Martin Fowler at 12.30am on bats, including his survey of the village bat population.

The event is free and open to everyone.

WONSTON Community Café will be returning on Wednesday, March 15, at Victoria Hall in Sutton Scotney.

Running from 9.30am to 12noon, the café will be raising money in aid of BOAZ, an inclusive, farm-based charity set up to provide a brighter future for people with learning disabilities and autism.

The usual selection of homemade cakes and cookies will be available together with freshly brewed teas and coffees. The café is cash only.

SOUTH Wonston Parish Council has announced that it will be holding a community event to celebrate the King’s Coronation.

The event will take place at The Pavilion and recreation ground on May 7. More details are expected to follow shortly.

MICHELDEVER Station has announced a Picnic in The Park event which it is holding to celebrate The Coronation. The event is expected to take place 11.30am on Monday, May 8 at Warren Field. The picnic will feature games for all ages.

Those interested in helping to arrange the event are asked to attend a meeting in Warren Hall on Andover Road on Tuesday, March 14. The meeting starts at 7pm.

THE Gratton Trust’s tennis coaching sessions are returning to Sutton Scotney Tennis Club. These sessions, open to all age groups, will take place during the Easter holidays from April 11 to April 13.

The sessions are free due to local benefactors of the club. To book a space at the coaching sessions, visit the Gratton Trust website.

More sessions will take place at the tennis club during the summer holidays, from July 25 to July 27, with booking for these sessions opening at a later date.

THE Church Pantry Food Bank is open in Sutton Scotney in the shed next to the Coach and Horses pub.

It is open three times a week – Mondays 5pm to 7pm, Wednesdays 2pm to 4pm and Fridays 9am to 11am.

The food bank offers non-perishable food, hygiene and household products at no cost for those who need help in providing for themselves or their family.

The initiative is run by Wonston Church by permission of the pub’s landlord David and is stocked through donations by local residents.
