FOLLOWING its success across the country the Sausage and Cider Festival is making its Winchester debut with a selection of tribute bands.

The festival will take place at North Walls Recreation Ground on August 19 with a host of live entertainment, food vendors and bars.

This year’s performers include The Four Kicks, KopyKat Killers, Scam Fender, Queens Greatest Hits, Madness tribute - One step behind as well DJ Pandar and singer-songwriter Daren Poyzer.

Organisers are also searching for local tribute bands to join the line-up. Those wishing to perform should apply at sausageandciderfest.co.uk/live-music.

Marketing manager Lee Fudge said: “Sausage and Cider Festival outdoors is a feel-good event with great music, a huge variety of cider flavors and great independent food operators. We are excited to be able to host our outside event in Winchester for the first time.”

As well as music on stage, there will also be speed sausage eating contests and six round chilli eating competitions.

Sausage flavours to try include rhubarb, cherry Bakewell, chocolate and Pineapple in addition to more than 25 cider flavours.

The event will run from 2pm to 11pm and under 18’s must be accompanied by someone over 21. The festival has already seen its pre-sale and general sale tickets sell out ahead of the final release tickets alongside the band announcements. For 50 per cent off go to sausageandciderfest.co.uk.
