AN Alresford man has been caught speeding at nearly twice the limit near the town.
Nigel Hughes, 60 of Lindley Gardens, was captured driving a 03-reg Peugeot at 55mph in the 30-zone of the B3027 at Bishop's Sutton on January 4 last year, a court heard.
Hughes pleaded guilty to the office in the case at Aldershot Magistrates Court.
He was fined £346 and ordered to pay £90 costs and a £35 victim surcharge. Six penalty points were added to his driving licence. The fines must be paid by March 19.
