THE Cheese and Chilli Festival is returning to Winchester this weekend - and there's lots to do including cooking theatres, demos, kids entertainment, live music and a chill eating competition. 

Scheduled for June 3-4 the event will be at North Walls Recreation Ground for the eighth year. 

The two-day event is a family-friendly food festival celebrating cheese, chilli and more.

The festival is the only show in the UK which celebrates both cheese and chilli within a festival setting.

Saturday June 3 will see ‘The famous Jez Avery’, one of the originators of freestyle mountain biking and UK stunt show perform.

On Sunday, the festival will host its own ‘silly’ version of the greatest dog show, in which the public is invited to bring their own dog and perform in front of the judge’s panel, one event category being ‘Dog that looks most like its owner’.

Other attractions include live music, cooking theatre, walkabout musicians, circus skills, chilli eating competition, crazy golf, taste tent, hot food challenge, bubble party, extreme heat challenge and many more.

Cheese and Chilli festival says it is committed to making the event more environmentally friendly by supplying sustainable methods on its website.

The event will be supporting Challengers Charity and the Listening Ear.

Tickets cost £10 adults on the door per day, with children up to 16 years old free.
