WINCHESTER pie shop Piecaramba is preparing to celebrate National Pie Week with a host of activities and events.

Taking place from March 6 to March 12, the restaurant has a range of special deals, as well as the return of the popular “What’s Your Flavour” competition.

Special projects manager for Piecaramba Tim Beavis explained the competition: “So it runs on social media; people can put forward their weird and wacky suggestions for fillings to a pie, and we pick out and shortlist the top three and then they get voted on by everyone that follows us basically.

“Last year we had a ‘Queen Brie’, which was a brie and cranberry pie. That was quite popular, it went down quite well!”

Co-founder Rob Litchfield added: “Historically we’ve had to order more pies throughout the week, of the winning pie. It’s a real sort of engagement with our customers and they look forward to it every year.”

Despite many businesses struggling to stay open between the Covid pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, Piecaramba has continued to see success, with Rob saying: “We’ve been fortunate, we’ve worked hard.”

He continued: “We’re just off the back of a great Christmas, and we’ve been really grateful to our customers for supporting us. I like to think we offer something, not just a restaurant, we’re more of an experience and an environment that you won’t find anywhere else and our customers really respond to that.”

The National Pie Week events will run from March 6 to March 12 at Piecaramba’s Winchester and Southampton restaurants.
