A WRITER from Winchester has published her latest novel. 

Tolstoy's Beard, written by Susana Cory-Wright, is a tale of political upheaval and the eternal quest for love and recognition.

Susanna said: "Sixteen-year-old Tatiana observes the warzone of her parent's marriage while on the threshold of a new life and love of her own.

"When Tolstoy introduces the famous, if radical Ukrainian Ilya Repin to teach Tatiana to paint, she is forced to reassess everything she holds dear.

"When Tolstoy's beard grows too long, will they return to the land they love?"

A book launch was held at P&G Wells in Winchester earlier this month. 

Susana, a mum of three, has an MA in creative writing and a PhD from De Montfort University in Leicester.

She is the author of two historical novels: 'The Catalan House' set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War and 'The London Wife.'
