GLASSES were raised to mark the 250th year of the Hampshire Chronicle.
A reception was held at the Theatre Royal to thank supporters and toast the newspaper's longevity.
The original celebration has been due to take place earlier this year but was postponed after the Queen's death as a mark of respect.
The rescheduled party, which was attended by Winchester MP Steve Brine, Winchester City Council leader Cllr Martin Tod, deputy lieutenant of Hampshire Amelia Ashton JP, plus many others, took place on Thursday, November 24.

Editor Kimberley Barber said: "We are by no means the oldest residents in Winchester, but we are one of them.
"For 250 years our purpose and values have not changed – to support Wintonians to thrive, by keeping our readers well informed and supporting businesses to flourish.
"For 250 years the Hampshire Chronicle has celebrated, cried and laughed with its readers and it has championed our city. We have always been with Winchester and will continue to be at the heart of the city."
