Flick Drummond MP formed part of an unlikely front three to celebrate 20 years of an initiative to encourage young people to play football.

Ms Drummond met 1966 World Cup winner Sir Geoff Hurst and former Lioness Karen Carney at an event in parliament on Wednesday, October 26 for the anniversary of McDonald’s Fun Football programme.

She met Fun Football ambassadors and caught up with coaches who work in local communities.

The Meon Valley politician also entered a prize draw - giving MPs the chance to win one of 20 football training equipment packs worth £300 for local teams in their constituency.

“It was a pleasure to meet Sir Geoff and Karen and celebrate this excellent programme that has brought football to many communities across Hampshire for two decades,” she said.

“I am keeping my fingers crossed I win one of the kits.”
