THREE people charged with conspiring to smuggle steroids and mobile phones into Winchester Prison have appeared in court.
The defendants are:
- Christopher Harman, 36, of Pentons Close, Holybourne;
- Liam Currell, 31, of no fixed abode;
- Stephanie Burt, 30, of Stanley Green Road, Poole, Dorset.
All three pleaded not guilty to being part of a conspiracy to bring a list A article into prison, namely steroids, between May 1 and August 31, 2021.
Harman, who appeared in the dock wearing a black shirt, and Currell, who joined via live link from HMP Guys Marsh, also denied conspiring to bring a list B article into prison, namely mobile phones, during the same period.

Burt, who appeared via video link on medical grounds, pleaded guilty to the charge.
She is also accused of failing to comply with a Section 49 notice of the Regulation Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) after allegedly failing to give the police the PIN for her mobile phone - which she denies.
During a hearing at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, October 26, Judge Susan Evans KC adjourned the case for a pre-trial review on December 16.
A trial date of January 30, 2023, at Salisbury Crown Court has also been set.
Harman and Burt were granted conditional bail while Currell has been remanded in custody.
