NO, you weren't dreaming if you thought you saw King Charles III standing on the balcony of Alresford Community Centre recently.
He was there surrounded by bunting in red, white and blue, but he was stuffed with straw, not the real thing.
His majesty was the most prominent of dozens of scarecrows created around the town in the scarecrow festival organised by St John's Church.
People were encouraged to walk the town seeing how many they could spot.
Autumn has become the season for scarecrow festivals with similar events in Droxford, Oliver's Battery and Owslebury.
