Following a successful event in April, TEDxWinchester has announced it is set to return in 2023.

This time, the Hampshire Chronicle will be the event's official media partner

The daylong conference will take place on Saturday June 17 at the University of Winchester’s West Downs Centre. Early bird tickets have just gone on sale priced £55.

TEDxWinchester is an independent, self-organised event, licenced by TED in the spirit of ideas worth spreading.

This year’s event had some inspiring talks delivered by broadcasters, business founders, campaigners and scientists. They included journalist Dame Esther Rantzen and extreme adventurer Jordan Wylie. Each talk shared personal experiences and thoughts around the theme, Ideas into Action.

Tech co-founder, community champion and former University of Winchester graduate, Samantha Kingston, shared how she used virtual reality to process her grief after the loss of her mother in 2018 from the consequences of alcohol misuse. Samantha’s talk has been recently promoted on the TEDx YouTube channel and has so far been watched by over 27,000 people worldwide.

Jan Carlyle, TEDxWinchester curator and licensee is looking forward to bringing and equally exciting line-up to the 2023 event.

She said: “We are thrilled TED have given us the licence once again to curate TEDxWinchester in 2023. This year’s event was incredibly impactful, and we brought together a community of voices who had ideas worth sharing that could change the world. We all went on a journey together and we are so looking forward to connecting in person and together with our team of volunteers and partners, we are proud to bring this global brand to Winchester for the third time.“
