AN AWARD-winning magician and comedian has extended his UK-wide tour to 11 more locations including Winchester.

Stand-up magician Pete Firman has extended his ‘Bag of Tricks’ tour, that debuted last year, to more venues in September and October 2022.

Following the success of his first tour since the pandemic, the TV personality decided to broaden the show to more locations including The Arc in Winchester.

The magician who’s featured on BBC1, ITV, Channel 4, Five, Sky1 and presented game shows on CBBC will be performing at the local Hampshire Cultural Trust venue on October 13.

The Magic Circle award winner last performed in Winchester in June 2019 at the Theatre Royal but is looking forward to bringing his full show to the cathedral city with hopes of a sell out audience.

Pete, 42, said: “I must admit Winchester is somewhere I haven’t played very often, not by desire but just the way things work out.

“I like being on the road, staying in hotels and being in a different venue every night. What’s good about live shows is that instant reaction that you get from the audience. Hopefully, that reaction will be laughter, amazement, and applause. It’s amazing to have a shared experience in the same room and the pandemic really brought home how special that it. It’s such a privilege."

Hampshire Chronicle:

During lockdown, the magician looked back on old tricks to develop a versatile show with something for everyone. The range of magic, including card tricks, mind reading, larger scale magic and sleight of hand, inspired the name ‘Bag of Tricks’.

Fusing stand-up comedy, magic and audience participation, the show lasts 90 minutes in addition to an interval.

The comedy star added: "When you involve someone from the audience you’re never sure of what they’re going to say or do. But improvising around that keeps it really interesting.”

When asked if he’d be visiting the sites in Winchester, Pete spun the question back and asked for independent restaurant and takeaway suggestions.

Mr Firman said: “It would be very easy to go to Tesco and get a sandwhich but it’s much nicer to explore the local area and find something off the beaten track.”

Tickets for the Winchester performance, beginning at 7.30pm on October 13, cost £16. Attendees must be over 14.

The Middlesborough star is also taking his ‘Bag of Tricks’ tour to other Southern locations such as Aldershot, New Milton and Isle of Wight, adding to the list of UK venues.
