WINCHESTER & District Athletics Club capped their Sportshall season with a fine showing at the Hampshire Individual Championships.

The club, which was represented by 15 athletes, came away with 16 first place awards, ten seconds and 13 thirds.

Gabriella Oliver might have been Winchester's only representative in the U15 section, but that didn't stop her outperforming the rest of the field.

Oliver finished first in the six-lap run, vertical jump and speed bounce, equalling or beating her personal bests in all three.

Jake Joslin produced an impressive performance in the U15 boys' section, finishing first in the four-lap run and speed bounce.

Teammate Robert Ellis was first in the long jump and recorded a personal best in the two-lap run.

In the U13 girls' category, Jessica Maw won the four-lap race and speed bounce, while Harriet Burwood finished first in the two-lap run and Fiona Brown added a second place finish in the shot.

Luke Joslin finished third in the two-lap race for the U13 boys' side, while Matthew Duffin's personal best in the vertical jump helped him to finish third.

The U11 girls' team produced a strong showing, with Rosie Upton gaining a first place in the balance beam, with Hannah Knapton.

Rachel Duffin won the vertical jump and gained a personal best time in the two-lap heats.

Bethan Elloway's personal best in the one-lap heats helped her to the final, only to narrowly miss out on third place.

Charlie Maw was the star in the U11 boys' section, finishing first in the balance beam, three-lap event and javelin, while adding a second in the long jump.

George Buley added personal bests in the one-lap hurdles and one-lap sprint, while Callum Upton added a pair of fourth place finishes in the target throw and vertical jump.
