A VAN driver was trapped after a collision with a petrol tanker near Winchester yesterday (March 20).
The seven-tonne vehicle collided with the tanker on the southbound A34 near Three Maids Hill at about 10am.
The air ambulance was activated but the casualty was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
Crew manager Vince Barnes said: "We had to cut him out. He had head injuries but was conscious.
"There was no problem with the tanker," he said.
Two fire vehicles attended from Winchester and one from Whitchurch.
