SIR - The failure of most of the Liberal Democrat members of Parliament, including our own, to vote on the vital issue of a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty is a betrayal of the trust invested in them by electors who sent them to the House of Commons.
It does not matter how they would have voted, whether for or against a referendum; it was their duty to vote.
What are we to think about such a spineless and irresponsible failure of their obligations to the electorate?
