ALRESFORD'S town council has rubber-stamped plans to take over the running of bar facilities at Arlebury Park.
An extra ordinary meeting of town councillors this evening (Wednesday) agreed to take control of debt-ridden Arlebury Park Sports and Social Club (APSCC).
APSCC has been operating the first-floor bars at the town's sports complex but last year admitted debts of around £50,000.
It is unclear when the deal will go through. APSCC will have to hold a meeting of its members to approve the takeover proposals and it is thought this will not happen for at least three weeks.
