THE Ninth Winchester (Colden Common) Scouts have a new leader, Erin Day.
The 27-year-old mother of two is a former Brownie and Girl Guide, and her father, Colin Brooks, was a Scout leader for many years.
District commissioner, Carol Pannell, invested her at a ceremony held at Colden Common Community Centre.
Members of the Ninth Winchester Beavers, Cubs and Scouts attended the event, along with family and friends.
The youngsters currently meet at the community centre in St Vigor Way and the Methodist Church in Spring Lane.
Their long-term goal is to build their own Scout hut in the village.
