PLANS by former Southampton and England soccer star Mike Channon top build a luxury mansion at West Tytherley will go before a public inquiry in June.
Now a successful racehorse trainer and breeder, he had applied to Test Valley Borough Council through Mike Channon Bloodstock Ltd for planning permission for a stud farm owner or manager's house at Rectory Hill, West Tytherley.
He already owns a racehorse stud there and the idea was to provide not only a home for the person running the stud but luxury accommodation for wealthy visitors who came to view the horses However, it was turned down and mr Channon has appealed to the Planning Inspectorate, which has arranged for a three-day public inquiry from June 25-27, with the first and third days at the council's Duttons Road offices and the second day in the Crosfield Hall Annexe.
