AFTER two years of Covid cancellations, The Romsey Show is returning to Broadlands Park with a huge line-up of events, attractions and demonstrations.

With only a matter of days left until The Romsey Show, all hands are on deck making sure that everything is ready to welcome visitors to Broadlands Park on Saturday, September 10.

Hosted by The Romsey Agricultural & Horse Show Society, this will be the first year the show has gone ahead since 2019.

Show secretary Alexa Morson said: “We are looking forward to having the show back after two years off due to Covid.

“We usually have around 20,000 visitors on the day and welcome more than 300 volunteers that help put up the showground and run the show. I am the only full time member of staff, so we are so grateful for all the support we get from the local community.

“The show brings opportunities for businesses to promote their services to the local people of Romsey and neighbouring areas.

“Especially since Covid, it is important for small businesses to have the opportunity to interact with potential clients in person. The show is also host to many countryside organisations, who often wouldn’t get the chance to speak to the local community without shows such as ours.”

Clubs and organisations from the local area come together to support the event, including many of the town’s youth groups such as Romsey Young Farmers, Scouts, Army Cadets, Sea Cadets and Air Cadets.

As well as helping with the running of the show, the groups run stands with activities like archery, assault courses and ball skills.

The country show will also host an array of animals to see and interact with, displays in the countryside area, a family dog show open for participation, local food vendors, a skills kitchen with chef demonstrations and a variety of trade stands and shopping.

Children under 12 can go for free. Familiar favourites for the younger visitors include terrier racing, gun do and falconry displays, vintage tractors and engines, the sheep show, kids kitchen and mobile petting farm.
