A EWE trapped in thick mud was hauled to safety by a police officer.
PC Buller from Test Valley Cops climbed knee-deep into the mud to rescue the female sheep on Sunday.
The force was alerted to a ‘bleat for help’ on Facebook and rushed to the scene to save life and lamb.
The ewe has recovered and is now roaming freely in the fields.
Test Valley Cops said: “Fortunately the sheep wasn’t feeling too crook from its experience.
“The same cannot be said for PC Buller.”
Both are expected to recover from this baaa’d experience.
