A VIDEO of a Wetherspoon employee putting his fingers in a deep fat fryer has been met with backlash.
The video was posted on social media platform TikTok and has been widely circulated online since.
Shared by online user @rustyscoots369, the video shows an employee dipping his fingers in the fryer a number of times.
One woman, who wished to remain anonymous, described the behaviour as "shocking."
The pub is believed to be The Wagon Works in Eastleigh but Wetherspoon has been unable to confirm this.
A spokesperson said: "We are aware of a video on social media in which it appears that an employee places their hand in a deep fat fryer in response to a dare.
"Needless to say that this is an incredibly foolish and dangerous act, which would be a clear breach of the company's health and safety policy and training.
"The employee's actions will be fully investigated."
