THE business might have closed several years ago and the building stands empty, gathering dust, but the floral display is still going strong.
The Corner House cafe/pub closed in 2019 and was bought by the city council in 2020 with the intention of converting it into six one-bedroom flats. That proposal has sparked criticism, as reported in the Chronicle.

When it was still operating as a pub the Business Improvement District included it in the scores of city centre businesses that benefit from 580 hanging baskets filled with flowers and regular feeding and watering.
The pub is closed but the BID is helping to keep up appearances.
Mind you, the row of wheelie bins and discarded supermarket trolley in the photograph doesn't do it any favours.
