FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire in Pitt after four hectares of stubble caught light. 

Crews from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service rushed to tackle a blaze in Enmill Lane, Pitt on Saturday, August 6.

A spokesperson from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Services said: "Three fire engines, a water carrier and a Land Rover attended a fire involving approximately four hectares of stubble and cut crops in a field off Enmill Lane, Pitt, on Saturday, August 6.

"We were called at 3.15pm and used water jets and beaters to put the fire out, with all crews having left the scene by 5pm."
