WINCHESTER'S motorists will have 27 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 19 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A34, from 8pm August 2 to 6am August 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 11 to 9, carriageway closure for M3 concrete barrier scheme, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

• M3, from 9pm November 23 2020 to 6am August 10 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 11, slip road closures for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme, diversion via Highways England network.

• M27, from 9pm October 6 2020 to 6am August 13 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 9, slip road closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.

• M27, from 9pm October 19 2020 to 6am August 13 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9, slip road and lane closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.

• M3, from 8pm November 12 2021 to 6am August 15 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 9, carriageway closure between the slip roads for M3 concrete barrier scheme, diversion route via National Highways network.

• M3, from 8pm July 11 to 6am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 11 to 12, carriageway closure for M3 concrete barrier scheme, diversion via local authority network.

• A303, from 8pm July 18 to 6am August 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 eastbound, Bullington to Overton, carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 9pm November 30 2020 to 6am August 18 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 11, slip road closure for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.

• M3, from 9pm December 9 2020 to 6am August 18 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 10, slip road closures for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority and National Highways network.

• M3, from 9pm December 11 2020 to 6am August 19 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 9, slip road closure for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via National Highways network.

• M27, from 9pm November 17 2020 to 6am August 23 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 8, slip road closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.

• M27, from 8pm April 4 to 6am August 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound and westbound, junction 7 to junction 9, Lane closures for M27 Smart Motorways.

• M3, from 8pm July 22 to 6am September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 11, carriageway closure inbetween the slip roads for emergency structures work.

• M27, from 8pm July 22 to 6am September 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound and westbound, junction 9 to 11, Lane closures for M27 Smart Motorways.

• M27, from 9pm July 25 to 6am September 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9, slip road closure for Hampshire County Council.

• M27, from 9pm July 18 to 6am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9, slip road closure for Hampshire County Council.

• M27, from 8pm July 18 to 6am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9 to 7, Lane closures for Hampshire County Council.

• M27, from 6am November 8 2021 to 6am May 19 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to 14, Narrow lanes and 50mph for Concrete barrier scheme.

• M27, from 8pm November 8 2021 to 6am October 12 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to 14, Lane closures for M3 concrete barrier scheme.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M27, from 9pm August 9 to 6am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 3, slip road and lane closures for barrier repairs, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 6am August 10 to 9am August 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3, junction 9 Winchester Boomtown Fair.

• M3, from 8pm August 10 to 6am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 9 to junction 8, Lane closures for survey works.

• A3, from 8am August 13 to 8pm August 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A3 Oueen Elizabeth Country Park, South Downs Show.

• A3, from 8pm August 16 to 6am August 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A3 southbound, Queen Elizabeth Country Park, slip road and lane closures for signage repairs, diversion via National Highways network.

• A303, from 8pm August 20 to 6am August 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Picket Twenty, slip road and lane closures for horticulture work, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 8pm August 22 to 6am August 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 9 to 11, carriageway closure for M3 concrete barrier scheme, diversion via local authority network.

• M3, from 9pm August 22 to 6am September 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 9, carriageway closure for M3 concrete barrier scheme, diversion via national Highways network.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
