The famous Bramdean Car Boot sale is back this month making it the 35th car boot sale in 37 years.

Only two have been disrupted, one due to Covid and another due to monsoon rainfall.

Held as a fundraiser for family support charity Home-Start Winchester, it has become an institution.

Now settled in its new home in Wood Lane, Bramdean, there is improved parking and a bigger field and, weather permitting, organisers are expecting a bumper crop of car boots.

“As always it will be an early start with gates opening to the public at 8am on August 14 but sellers are welcome to arrive from 7.15am to set up their stalls,” said Home-Start trustee Chrissie Barlow.

“The last two years have been tough on all charities and our fundraising activities have been severely curtailed. Now we are back in business and are very grateful for the support of Hellards estate agents in helping us to stage this event.”

Refreshments, disabled parking and mobile loo will be available on site and seller fees are £10 per car, £15 per van or trailer or double pitch (cash only), while buyers will give a donation at the gate to enter.
