A NURSERY and pre-school in Winchester has been voted as one of the top nurseries in the country.

Finkley Weeke Nursery and Pre-School in Fleming Road was ranked as one of the top 20 nurseries in the south east, out of 2,065, by day nurseries reviews site, daynurseries.co.uk.

The ratings were based on the nursery’s reviews from the children’s families and carers and looked at overall standard, facilities and outside space, learning, resources and equipment and ICT, care, activities, staff, food and nutrition, management, cleanliness, safeguarding as well as value for money.

Lottie Frogley, deputy manager of Finkley Weeke Nursery and Pre-School, said:“We here at Finkley Weeke Nursery are so very proud to have made the top 20 nurseries in the south east.

"We are a small nursery and truly pride ourselves on being one big happy family. We feel this is reflected in the way our parents and children feel about us and why they have given such wonderful reviews.

“We work hard to provide our children with a safe, enriching and engaging environment, whilst giving them exciting opportunities that only we can provide. Every day is an adventure here at Finkley Weeke Nursery and we couldn't be prouder of our team, children and families.”

Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager of daynurseries.co.uk, said: “We would like to congratulate Finkley Weeke Nursery and Pre-School on being rated by parents as a top nursery in the south east.

"Being chosen as one of the best nurseries in the UK by family and carers of children that attend the setting is a huge achievement.

“Our award is recognition from parents and carers that this nursery is offering their children a high standard of care that is key to their social and emotional development as well as their learning.

“We hope these awards give parents that much needed guidance in choosing the right nursery for their child.”

There are more than 13,000 nurseries in the UK, with more than 400,000 people working in the childcare sector and around one million children in the UK attend a nursery.

The top nurseries will receive an award from the website.
